Aizawl: K. Lalrinthanga, Parliamentary Secretary of Social Welfare Department inaugurated the new building of ST Girls Hostel at MDTC (Multi Discipline Training Centre) KVI Complex Zemabawk.
Addressing the function, K. Lalrinthanga said that he appreciates construction of Hostel Building for girls at Multi discipline Training Centre, MDTC KVI Complex for the accommodation of trainees outside city area. Selection of skills for training is also important for the future of trainees, he said. Parliamentary Secretary also asked officials of KVI and trainees to make use of Hostel building and to look after neat and clean.
Lianzuala, Mizoram KVI board chairman also said that MDTC is one of the best skill development training centre in Mizoram, this is the place where many trainees concluded their skills, he said.
He also reported that as many as 1348 trainees concluded their training from KVI board Zemabawk and now the training is being given in 8 discipline or skills.
ST Girls Hostel Building is 894.5 square metres and consists of 4 floors. There are 4 dormitory and is planned for 52 bedded hostel. ST girls hostel dormitory and is planned for 52 bedded hostel.
ST girls hostel MDTC, Zemabawk completed construction of June 2017 was constructed by NECS from the fund of Tribal hostel scheme from Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
The project was made through Social Welfare Department. The total expenditure of this building 364.40 lakh rupees was 100% central funding, the official sources said. At the inaugural function of ST Girls Hostel Building, Dr. Lalnunthara, Director of Social Welfare Department delivered welcome speech.
Robert Romawia Royte, Chief Managing Director NECS gave a technical report on the building. A. Vanlalzawni, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department concluded the function by delivering vote of thanks.
AMC Councillor K. Lalhmingliani, officials of Social welfare department and Mizoram KVI Board attended the meeting.
